N Number Logs

These tail numbers were collected in one single location in Groton. They represent approximately 50% of the actual activity in that one small quadrant of airspace and may or may not be representative of the activity in adjacent airspace. The information is shown here to illustrate the intensity of flight activity.  This is the opposite of "distributing" the noise in a fair or reasonable way.  It indicates in the aggregate what is sadly a truism in recreational flight, the attitude that "I have the right to my fun, it's just one plane, one flight" overriding plain sense; that collectively this activity is causing intense discomfort and in some cases anguish to "the many" below.

N Numbers / Tail numbers are what enable one to identify a particular plane. The registration marks displayed on the aircraft must consist of the Roman capital letter "N" (denoting United States nationality) followed by the registration number of the aircraft.   The following website describes the FAA's requirements for registrations marks requirements:
